Athletic
Muhammad Ali was known throughout his career as a very athletic man, and one of the greatest boxers ever. An example to back up this statement was his overall boxing record. Muhammad’s record at the end of his fighting career was 56 fights won, knocked out 37 people and only lost 5 fights. (“Muhammad Ali’s Ring Record”). This supports Ali being athletic because he had an incredible record and most boxers at this time did not have a career record this good. To achieve this record, Muhammad had to be at the top of his game. Another example was that soon after interest in boxing, Ali started it and became fundamentally sound in no time at all. When Ali was young at age 12, his bike was stolen. After telling the police that he wished he could just beat up the thief, the officer told him "Well, you better learn how to fight before you start challenging people." Muhammad took these words to heart and began training at a local gym. (Bio.com) This shows that Muhammad was determined to become an athlete and definitely achieved this goal very quickly. Another example was when Muhammad Ali won a gold medal in the summer Olympics. Later after his return, he is refused service at a restaurant by a white waitress and has to fight a white gang. He is so disgusted, that he throws his gold medal into the Ohio River. ("Muhammad Ali.") To even qualify for the Olympics is amazing, but to win a gold medal is outstanding. Many athletes become professionals in a sport, but few ever make it to the Olympics. To sum this up, Muhammad Ali was one of the most talented athletes to walk the face of the earth.
